Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, in company of his wife, Pricilla, and deputy governor, Engineer Ikechukwu Emetu, played host to the four Super Falcons players from Abia State in his country home at Isiala Ngwa South LGA of the State.
The governor praised the female players for displaying uncommon gallantry and patriotism at the just concluded FIFA Female World Cup hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
The Abia governor, who commended the Falcon players for making Abia State and Nigeria proud through their wonderful outing, said they have become role models for youths in Abia and Nigeria at large.
The Falcon players honoured were Glory Ogbonna who hails Isiala Ngwa South LGA, Christy Ucheibe from Isuikwuato LGA, Uchenna Kanu from Uzuakoli, Bende LGA, as well as Esther Okoronkwo who is from Arochukwu Kingdom.
The players, who became the attraction of all eyes at the Governor’s residence, appreciated the warm reception accorded them by Governor Otti and the Abia State government.
