Former World Boxing Federation (WBF) champions Taiwo “Esepo” Agbaje and Ridwan “Scorpion” Oyekola have been scheduled to compete on the card of the highly anticipated boxing event known as Simplified Rumble in the Rivers for Champions by Zeus Sports and Entertainment.

The undefeated Agbaje, with an impressive record of 16 wins and 11 knockouts, will face Tanzania’s Loren Japhet for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) world featherweight title. Ridwan ‘Scorpion’ Oyekola, who had just returned to the country from Japan, will fight a challenge bout.

The event, which promises 10 fights in total with notable matchups, will be held inside the Diete Spiff Civic Centre, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on 7th December 2024.

Confirming this, the CEO of Zeus Sports Promotions, Emma Emenogu, said the boxing event will for long linger in the memories of all that will witness the show because all hands are on the desk to organize a top-notch boxing bout and considering the caliber of people that will be at the ringside to watch the show.

Among the top dignitaries expected at the boxing event are King Ateke Tom, sports and entertainment stars such as Finidi George, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, Flavour, and Burna Boy, making it a high-profile occasion for fans of both boxing and celebrity culture.

Also expected is the President of the World Boxing Federation (WBF), Howard Goldberg, who claimed that because of the magnitude of the fight, he has canceled his initial schedule to come to Las Vegas to come and monitor a world title fight in Nigeria with a boxing judge coming from Europe to handle the fight.
