Former Guinea-Bissau Football Federation president, Manuel Irenio Nascimento, has endorsed Anambra Football Association Chairman, General Chikelue Iloenyosi, for a seat on the Board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Nascimento, a former Vice President of the Organizing Committee of African Cup of Nations (AFCON) competitions who spoke through a video on Friday said:
“I’m making this video to formally and whole-heaetedly endorse General Chikelue Iloenyosi, the Chairman of Anambra State Football Association for a seat on the Nigeria Football Federation Board”.
“Nigeria is the giant of African football, and the giant needs a personality like Chikelue as a leader to propel Nigerian football to higher heights”.
“As an ex-player who played the game at the highest level, he truly knows the game, he feels the game and understands the game”.
Nascimento continued, “As the heartbeat of the players, we have all seen the good work and the incredible results he has achieved in Anambra State in order to make football grow at the grassroots level”.
“His contribution and vision extends beyond the football pitch to the entire association of sports in Nigeria. I have watched his dedication to youth development and his passion for the growth of women football as well as working for the next generation”, Nascimento concludes.
