A congratulatory message has been extended to the newly elected Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, Comrade Akeem Abas, from the stable of UfitFly and UfitHomes, signed by its Chairman, Evangelist Ajibola Ogunkeyede.

In a statement that was released and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, Ogunkeyede described Abas’ emergence as well-deserved and a reflection of his professionalism, integrity, and long-standing dedication to ethical journalism.

He noted that his firm has been a long-standing ally of the Oyo NUJ, as both bodies have collaborated to undertake many developmental projects to the benefit of the society, stressing that the election marked the beginning of a promising chapter for the union under a forward-thinking and committed new leader.

The astute businessman with many international awards for his effort towards community service, however, expressed confidence that Abas’ leadership would further strengthen the media landscape in Oyo State, promote press freedom, and enhance collaboration between journalists and corporate institutions in the state.

He pledged the continuous support and collaboration of his outfit, particularly in the areas of delivering corporate social responsibilities (CSR), collaborations on pilgrimages for members, and sharing of useful resource materials on tourism and destination management.

“We’ve been a good ally with the Oyo State Chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists by coming to deliver papers during seminars and workshops organized by the body and sponsoring some members of the NUJ to pilgrimage on our CSR scheme, as we believe the new chairman will create a more enabling atmosphere to flourish the relationship,” said the UfitHomes boss.

Ogunkeyede, however, prayed for a successful and impactful tenure for Comrade Abas, adding that his firm looks forward to a productive relationship with the NUJ under his stewardship. The UfitHomes boss emphasized the importance of collaboration between the media and the organization to enhance community engagement. He expressed optimism that initiatives under Comrade Abas’s leadership would foster stronger ties and lead to mutually beneficial projects in the future.
