Nigerian Victor Osimhen set two records in Napoli’s 2-0 win over Sampdoria in their last game of the season on Sunday.

Osimhen became the first-ever African to win the Italian Serie A top scorer award with 26 goals.

He also became the African with the most goals in the history of the competition with 50 goals.

The Nigeria international found the net from the penalty spot in 64th minute to give his side the lead after a barren first half.

With the goal Osimhen became the first African in the 125-year history to win the golden boot.

He finished the campaign with 26 goals and four assists as Napoli won the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years.

The Super Eagles star was recently rewarded for his incredible contributions to the league title success with the Serie A Best Striker award.

Sportivationng.com reports that he was presented with the award before the start of the game.

Giovanni Simeone struck late in the encounter to put the icing on the cake for Luciano Spalletti’s side.
