The President-General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria, Comrade Francis Bunu Abi extends Christmas greetings to Christians worldwide, urging them to remain steadfast in their faith.

He emphasizes the importance of emulating Jesus Christ’s exemplary life, promoting love, tolerance, and kindness, and calls for peace in Nigeria

He called on Christians across the nook and crannies of the country, admonishing them to be steadfast with long-suffering, tolerant, committed to the things of the Kingdom of God, irrespective of the serious trials and persecutions they are currently passing through, because of their genuine faith, reminding them, what our Lord Jesus Christ went through while on planet in the hands of men; even though, he was going about doing good, healing the sick and providing for the needy; yet the world rejected him, while he suffered persecutions everywhere he went, until he was sold into the hands of his captors; and his eventual crucifixion on the cross of Calvary.

The fierce Maritme Labour Activist, Comrade Bunu, also urged Christians globally to emulate the exemplary life of our Lord Jesus Christ, to be tolerant, and to forgive one another and always be kind to one another, irrespective of how many times we may be offended; while loving our brothers like ourselves noting that Christianity is behaving “Christ like” and that without imbibing this Christ like character in our daily lives, it means we have fallen out of the principles of Christianity; praying fervently that we will not fall out of the favor and the grace of the Almighty God, who is our focus and our ultimate goal in our pursuit to the Kingdom of God.

The numero uno Maritme leader says that Jesus Christ is the sole reason for the Yuletide season and that we must be committed to charity, while, blessing the needy and the vulnerable through alms giving during this season in our various communities and society, irrespective of religion, tribe, descent, colour; therefore, we must always exhibit this Christ like attitude no matter where we may be residing or find ourselves anywhere in the world.

He also praised Christians for their maximum tolerance during this trying period, advising them to continue in the same vein irrespective of the ongoing persecutions, especially in the nothern parts of the country, where there has been so much killings with a large population of displaced and homeless persons including children and out of school children; saying that God is not unaware of what Christians and Muslims are passing through in that part of Nigeria right now, promising that the Almighty God will fish out the wicked elements in our mist and the society general; believing that God is love and that for us to live in a sane society, we must give LOVE a Chance for both Christians and Muslims to live peacefully in Nigeria and across the entire world.

Comrade Bunu further says that the Federal Government of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, GCFR and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed forces has everything within his disposal to do what is just right to bring the insecurity in the country to a halt, praying that in no distant time, Nigeria will be peaceful again, while reclaiming back her status as the “Giant of Africa,” which we are, and by the Grace of God with the spirit of the season, the Almighty God, will surely answer our prayers collectively.

As we celebrate the Christmas, I wish every Nigerian home and abroad a prosperous New year in advance.
