LSSC Boss Lauds Imadu On Boxing Development As Yucateco boss pledges a boxing Gym To the Commission

The Chief executive officer of Africa’s leading boxing promotional outfit Yucateco boxing promotions Omonlei Yakubu Imadu, has pledged to build an ultra-modern boxing gymnasium at the Teslim Balogun stadium. Imadu, made this known during a courtesy call to the Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission Lekan Fatodu on Wednesday.

The meeting which lasted for several hours at the DG’s office climaxed with a visite to the site where the Gym will be erected at the stadium. The Yucateco boss who was in company with the technical director of the Yucateco boxing league Babatunde Laguda and other executives of the boxing outfit said his proclivity to change the phase of boxing in the country necessitated his resolve to build a boxing Gymnasium for the commission.

” i am of the opinion that government alone cannot adequately fund sports especially at the grassroots level, hence my position to invest my personal resources to the development of amateur boxing in the country ”

” let me assure you that this is not one of those pledges that won’t be redeemed, i hope to deliver this project in four months so we are putting machineries in place immediately to kick-start the construction process Imadu told reporters”.

The DG Lagos State Sports Commission Lekan Fatodu, lauded the Yucateco boss for his commitment to developing boxing in the country and stated that the commission is always open to collaborate with the outfit whenever it’s called upon.

” we are not oblivious to the humongous investment Yucateco has made to support the development of boxing in Nigeria, his pledge to build a boxing Gym at the stadium further reflects his unwavering commitment to the sports at the amateur level”.

Fatodu also disclosed that the stadium have long craved a boxing Gymnasium to aid the training of boxers in the state. He said the intervention of Mr. Imadu will encourage more young people to take to the sports using the facility.
