On behalf of the Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament programme and the Wind of Hope Foundation, the first official biography project of President Jonathan where I was the DG & Project Coordinator, we wish to extend our warmest birthday wishes to a peacemaker, visionary, and statesman, His Excellency, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

“A good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.” – Proverbs 13:22.

Your legacy transcends politics. As a bridge-builder in Africa, you exemplified Isaiah 32:17 — “The work of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.” Your role in fostering harmony across the continent is a beacon. From Nigeria’s peaceful 2015 transition to ECOWAS mediation, your statesmanship remains a model for leaders globally.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” – Matthew 5:9.

Your diplomatic finesse strengthened global partnerships, echoing Proverbs 16:7: — “When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” The world honours your humility, integrity, and service.

As you step back from partisan politics, we urge: “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” – Galatians 6:9. Continue advocating for unity, education, and youth empowerment.

As we prepare for the 8th Edition of the Bayelsa Governor’s Cup which is to be held during the 30th Anniversary of Bayelsa State, a state you once governed, we look forward to your support of our programme which promotes youth development, empowerment, sports, health, and peace — proving that “faith without works is dead” (James 2:26).

To a leader whose compassion echoes Micah 6:8 — “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.”

    Happy Birthday Sir
May God continue to bless you with strength, wisdom, and purpose. May your legacy continue to inspire generations.

    God bless you Sir
