Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Barrister Lloyd Ike Ekweremadu, says Olympic Day Celebration is a spark to ignite our responsibilities for sports development and celebration of friendship and togetherness as a community.
The Commissioner disclosed this while conveying Governor Peter Mbah’s message of his administration’s commitment to sports development in the state on Saturday.
“This Olympic Day Celebration serves as a spark to ignite our passion for sports development”.
“It’s exactly what Governor Peter Mbah is laying as part of his administration’s vision in the area of sports, as a way of developing both infrastructure and human resources”.
“”This event serves as a reminder for us to keep alive those responsibilities. I’m happy that we are able to do that”, especially in my short service as Commissioner in Enugu State. It’s the second time we are doing this and for me, it is a resounding success”.
“What it simply means for us is a celebration of togetherness as a community to exercise, engage and recreate the body”, Ekweremadu noted.
The event was marked by a 2 kilometres walk through the streets of Enugu by Commissioner Ekweremadu as well as other sports men and women.
The event also featured a novelty Volleyball match between Enugu Volleyball team and Arm Wrestling demonstration contest by Enugu state Arm Wrestling team.
