Footy Homes today organized the fifth edition of its annual community outreach initiative, ‘Footy Care n Share’, providing support and essential health services to elderly members of the community. The initiative, founded by the company’s CEO, Abdulazeez Olamuyiwa, has been running consistently for the past five years.

This year’s edition held at the Adeoyo Ring-road junction, corporate headquarters of the firm brought together about 200 elderly participants who benefited from a range of free medical services. The outreach featured general medical tests, free eye examinations and glasses, health awareness sessions designed to educate participants on maintaining healthy lifestyles in their later years.

Healthcare professionals on site conducted routine health checks, while optometry teams carried out eye tests and offered guidance on vision care. Organizers said the goal of the initiative is to improve access to basic healthcare services for older members of the community who may not easily afford them.

Beyond medical support, the event also included recreational and social activities aimed at promoting happiness and engagement among the elderly. A lively dancing competition became one of the highlights of the day, drawing enthusiastic participation from attendees.

Winners of the dance contest received cash prizes and souvenirs while all participants were given food items as part of the outreach support package.

Speaking about the initiative, Olamuyiwa said ‘Footy Care n Share’ was created to show appreciation to elderly citizens and ensure they feel valued and supported. “Our elderly people have contributed so much to society. Through this initiative, we want to give back by supporting their health, celebrating them, and reminding them that they are not forgotten,” he said.

Since its inception five years ago, the Footy Care n Share program has grown steadily, reaching hundreds of elderly people with medical care, welfare support, and social activities. Organizers noted that Footy Homes, which is a subsidiary of Footy Group plans to continue expanding the initiative in future editions, with the aim of reaching even more elderly citizens and strengthening community support systems.
