The newly elected Spokeperson for the Boxing Promoters Association of Nigeria (BPAN), Edna Bola Aiyegbeni has assured that the newly constituted executives of the body will swing into action toward bringing back the glorious days of boxing to Nigeria.

The daughter of the late foremost boxing promoter, Chief Francis Aiyegbeni disclosed this via a telephone conversation with the sporting press after being elected to the management board of the BPAN, where she expressed appreciation to other members of the body for finding her worthy of position.

She, however, stressed that part of the strategy she will suggest to the body to work on is to dialogue with all key stakeholders in the Nigerian boxing family toward taking the sport to the grassroots.

“We want to tap into our country’s enormous talent pool and give aspiring boxers opportunities to succeed on both national and international platforms. The creation of BPAN is a landmark in the history of boxing in Nigeria,” stated the CEO of the Aiyegbeni Boxing Club, located in Ibadan.

“I am sure the synergy between the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC) under its President, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo, and its scribe, Remi Aboderin, will be strengthened,” she continued, expressing her belief in the abilities of the BPAN executives led by Imadu Tucateco.
