    Boxing Bonanza: Over 20 Countries Set to Storm Lagos for African Boxing Congress

    The Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF) will be hosting the rest of the continent at the Inaugural African Boxing Congress and Gala Night in Lagos on Saturday, December 28th

    The event is slated for the banquet hall of Providence Hotel in GRA Ikeja Lagos.

    The groundbreaking event will converge delegates from Namibia, Lydia, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Madagascar, Ghana, Botswana, Somalia, Sudan, Algeria, Egypt, Malawi, Morroco, Gabon, Uganda, host Nigeria amongst others.

    African Boxing which is the governing body of the continent’s boxing confederation and aim to establish new continental structures under World Boxing, elect leadership, and strategize for African boxing’s growth at its Inaugural congress in Nigeria.

    Hon. Omonlei Imadu, the vice president of the Nigeria Boxing Federation and a member of the African Boxing Working Committee, also serves as Head of Organisation for the forthcoming Congress

    Imadu said proper arrangements are being made to ensure that Nigeria hosts a world-class event later this month.

    ” I am excited to state that the Nigeria Boxing Federation is truly ready to stage this groundbreaking event, the organizing and planning committee have been working round the clock since Nigeria was granted the hosting right and i believe in our ability to stage an event that will meet the global requirements of World Boxing”. Imadu added.

    As the host of the African Boxing Congress, Nigeria is now in pole position to emerge as the host nation for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics boxing qualifiers in Africa.

    The event will further place the Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF) in a more favorable disposition to attract several developmental programs to aid the advancement of Olympic style pugilists in the country.
