    Alumni of Oke-Ado High School Set to Celebrate 45th Anniversary and Reunion

    The Alumni Association of Oke-Ado High School (OHSIOSA),’ Joyce B’ Road, Ibadan, has announced the dates for the reunion and celebration of the school’s 45th anniversary.

    Among the various events planned by the executive committee of OHSIOSA are a Health Awareness Day and excursions to the National Museum of Unity, Aleshinloye, and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, Moniya, culminating in a reunion and gala night at the prestigious Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort.

    According to the chairman of the Welfare Committee, Kehinde Adeyomoye, the celebrations will commence on Wednesday, 23rd July 2025, with a Health Awareness Day featuring a health talk, cervical screening tests, prostate cancer tests, breast examinations, eye tests, and dental care.

    There will be an excursion to the National Museum, Aleshinloye, Ibadan, and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Moniya, Ibadan, on Friday, 25th July 2025. The Reunion and Gala Night will then take place on Saturday, 26th July 2025, at Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Akanran Ibadan, said Adeyomoye.

    Oke-Ado High School, Ibadan, was founded in 1980 during the tenure of the late Governor Bola Ige. Since its establishment, the Old Students Association has remained committed to giving back to the institution that shaped them, undertaking various commendable initiatives.

    These include Construction of a befitting main gate entrance. Renovation of a Storey building of twelve (12) classrooms. Construction of a block of 12 toilet units for staff and students. Furnishing and equipping the computer room with 30 pieces of computer tabletop and backups. The project also involves the construction of 50 pairs of chairs and tables specifically designed for the student use. Furnishing and upgrading the school library with the latest edition of books and magazines in accordance with the ministry’s educational syllabus.

    Other projects are the consistent annual organization of awards and price-giving day for best-performing students and outstanding staff. Annual payment of NECO exam fees for selected best-performing and less privileged students. Water storage of 1500 liters on an iron scaffold and running of water pipes to different locations within the school compound. Installation of solar-powered CCTV cameras. Provision of aids to some physically challenged students.

    Annual seminars and workshops to guide students in choosing appropriate career paths. symposium on morals and behaviour. Renovation of a block of 6 classrooms. Reconstruction of the dilapidated school hall.

    The excos, however, thanked all their esteemed donors, especially towards the forthcoming event, saying their unwavering generosity and commitment to supporting their activities have played a pivotal role in improving the learning environment for current students, ensuring they receive quality education in a well-equipped and secure setting.

We deeply appreciate your continued commitment to this noble cause and look forward to achieving even more together. Your generosity not only preserves the legacy of our great institution but also paves the way for future generations to thrive.”
