Reactions have followed the tribunal rulings as reports were made that the UK government will deport Pastor Tobi Adegoyega.
But his lawyer, Dele Olawanle, has said that reports claiming his client faces deportation were false, stating that deportation is for criminals and his client is not.
Olawanle said the court did not find his client guilty of any wrongdoings as regarding the church SPAC saga.
“Tobi has lived in the UK for at least 20 years without any criminal conviction. He has contributed significantly to the British community. He has faced many challenges, but he is a winner. Many of his adversaries are from African community,” he said.
“I read some comments this morning and wonder why people are quick to make ignorant comments without facts…society has a big problem…,” He added.
Controversies have sparked over the operation of SPAC Nations for UK.
In 2022, the UK court ordered the immediate closure of SPAC Nation, over controversies of allegations of corrupt practices by the church for lack of transperancy and misuse of funds and not properly accounting for £1.87 million.
UK High Court shut down the church group popularly known as SPAC Nation on June 9, for failure to properly account for more than £1.87 million in expenditure and operation with lack of transparency.
Born in Nigeria in 1989, Pastor Tobi Adegboyega relocated to London in 2005 to be with his cousin, who is an actor John Boyega in UK.
On 20 May 2020, Adegboyega reportedly step down as Lead Pastor of SPAC Nation, handing over the church to Samuel Akokhia, before the UK court ordered the total shutdown of the church.
