    Solomon Ogba Re-Elected as African Representative to IAU, Continues to Lead in Athletics

    Dr. Solomon Ogba has been re-elected as the African Representative, showcasing his exceptional leadership skills and dedication to the world of athletics. His journey in sports administration has been marked by numerous achievements, earning him recognition globally.

    Dr. Ogba’s Contributions to IAU:  Served as the Area Representative for Africa on the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) Executive Council since 2016–

    Instrumental in promoting ultrarunning in Africa, bringing the first IAU African 50K Championships to Nigeria in 2019–

    Demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to the development of athletics on the African continent

    Ogba’s Appointment to the Commonwealth Games Federation’s Governance and Integrity Committee:

    -Elected as a member of the Commonwealth Games Federation’s Governance and Integrity Committee for a four-year term until May 2028

    Recognized for his expertise and commitment to fostering integrity within sports

    He will work closely with the committee to ensure the highest standards of governance and ethical conduct within the Commonwealth Sports Movement

    Dr. Ogba’s re-election as African Representative and his appointment to the Commonwealth Games Federation’s Governance and Integrity Committee are testaments to his hard work, dedication, and leadership abilities. His contributions to the world of athletics has been invaluable, and his continued involvement in the sports community will undoubtedly have a lasting impact.

    Two-time President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN)

    Commissioner of Sports in Delta State

    Chairman of the Delta State Athletics Association

    His Commitment to Sports Development focuses on grassroots development, identifying and nurturing young talent, works to improve sports infrastructure and facilities.

    Ogba aims to promote athletics excellence in Nigeria, Africa, and on the global stage.
