    Sarkin Karshi Receives FOSLA U15 Girls In Abuja

    The traditional leader of Karshi in the Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Ismaila Muhammed (MFR), has reiterated the need for all Nigerians to celebrate the Fosla Academy U-15 Female football team who represented Nigeria at the maiden CAF U15 African Schools Football Championship in Lome, Togo last month.

    The Paramount leader said this has become necessary because of the composure and total adherence the team showed to CAF rules in the tournament that earned them the Fair Play award

    The Sarkin who received the young girls in his palace in Karshi, said his happiness remains that the female team being the first to represent Nigeria at the WAFU B competition in Lome will ever remain in the history book of the country.

    “Being the first U15 Female football team to represent Nigeria at the CAF School Competition is the major reason we are celebrating them today, Sarki began.

    He added, they did not only represent the country but also portray the most populous country in Africa in good light. To have won the Fair Play award for a country the world perceive as a place where people don’t respect the rule of law and don’t follow due process send a good signal to the world. We are happy that they didn’t falsify their ages, follow the rules book of the game to the latter and serve as good ambassadors for Nigeria.

    “We call on well-meaning Nigerians to support the school proprietor, Alh Sani Lulu Abdullahi in the process of building a new generation of tomorrow’s world stars.” He concluded.

    Also speaking, former NFF President and proprietor of Fosla Academy, Sani Lulu Abdullahi attributed the glory to Sarki of Karshi for providing an enabling environment for building the school where the boys and the girls read, study and engage in sporting activities.

    He appreciated the Nigeria School Sports Federation for the provision of the platform where the team qualify for the CAF Competition in Lome and also thanked the Nigeria Football Federation for providing the needed support to participate in the tournament. Lulu was full of praises to the leadership of the Federation for being there for the players and officials all through the tournament.

    FOSLA Academy Female football team won the National Preliminaries held in Abuja which qualified the School to represent Nigeria in Lome. Though the school didn’t win the trophy but won the Fair Play award due to to their strict adherence to CAF rules especially on the area of age compliance.

    It’s also interesting to note that Patricia Habila of FOSLA Academy won the Most Valuable Player and the Highest Goal Scorer Awards at the National Championship in Abuja ahead Togo trip.
