    Oyewumi Declares Intent For  National President Of NAPS

    Oyewumi Festus Ayomide of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology Igboora, Oyo State has declared his intention to vie for the position of the National President of the National Association of polytechnic students (NAPS).

    Declaring his intention via an official statement released and made available to newsmen, the current zonal Public Relation Officer of Southwest NAPS pledged to transform the Polytechnic students’ community if given a chance, saying his decision was borne out of his passion for student welfare, advocacy, and leadership.

    His five point agenda is as follows: to 1. To enhance student engagement and participation in National decision-making processes. 2. To foster collaboration between polytechnics, industries, and government Agencies. 3. To promote entrepreneurship, Innovation, and skills development programs. 4. To improve student welfare, health, and security, and 5. To strengthen national unity among polytechnic students.

    “As a dedicated and experienced Student leader, I possess a proven track record of good leadership quality in Student Union governance when I served as the President of Student Union Government. Strong Communication, Negotiation, and Problem-solving skills,” he noted.

    He however pledged to listen to the concerns of his fellow students and represent their interests at all times. He also promised to work tirelessly to address challenges facing Polytechnic education and students in Nigeria, while also ready to foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and inclusivity with intention to empower students to become active change-makers.
