Chairman of Delta state Teqball association, Mr. Dick Marvel has directed that Nigeria number one ranked teqball player, Victor Oyemade to train players of team Delta as part of preparation ahead of the forthcoming 2023 Delta state youth national sports festival.
While commending the Delta state government for hosting the Youth games in this difficult time, Mr. Dick said this is necessary because team Delta lack the players, been that Teqball is a new game which they are yet to dominate.
He noted that this will be the first time Teqball will compete for medal in the National Youth Sports games
“The national youth sports festival and qualifiers for world teqball championship are fast approaching where we need players to win medals for Team Delta and Nigeria “.
He said there is a need to discover future champions and urged retired professional footballers and good ball jogglers to take advantage of the game.
Players under Victor Oyemade’s drilling are gradually catching up at the Ughelli Township Staduim, Delta state where Coach Kennedy Adje coordinates.
However, Chairman of Delta state sports commission Chief Tonobok Okowa has confirmed that the state is ready to host the fifth national youth games from September 7th to 17th 2023.
