    Ogun FA Commends Oyo Housing FC After Winning Ebedei U-19 Tourney

    After emerging top at the Ebedei invitational tournament, the leadership of the Ogun State Football Association has lauded Oyo State Government, especially the Deputy Governor, Chief Adebayo Lawal who spearheaded the resuscitation of the traditional Housing Corporations Football Club in 2021.

    The Under-19 NationWide League team of the Housing Corporations Football FC featured in a scouting soccer tournament tagged FC Ebedei U19, held inside the Ebedei Stadium, Apele Sagamu on the ninth of June and became the winner.

    Housing boys won against the host team, FC Ebedei in the first game by penalty shootout after recording goalless during the full time, and Elebuibon suffered 2-0 defeat in the second game to meet the House of Prayer FC in the final who also fell by 2-0 to lift the cup.

    Four players of the Housing Corp FC were picked by the foreign scout that came to recruit talented boys from the tourney as the Captain, Afolabi Oladimeji, Adekunle Yusuf who is playing from the wings along Ogungbade Farouk and the goalkeeper, Husain Isiak who is a penalty saver specialist were all picked for further trial by the white scout.

    Reacting to newsmen after the event, the Team Manager of Housing Corp. Mr. Okesiji Abiola commended his technical crew led by Coach Sanusi Musiliu Kolawole popularly known as Ilerika who combed the nooks and crannies of the state to assemble the under-19 boys for the team.

    He however thanked the Patron of the team who doubles as the Deputy Governor of the State, Chief Adebayo Lawal who is always motivating the boys with mouth watering incentives each time they do well, and assured the boys of constant support from the management of the team.
