Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated a former Deputy Governor of the State, Benjamin Elue, as he celebrated his  83rd birthday on Tuesday, June 6.

Oborevwori described Elue, who was Deputy to Chief James Ibori from 1999-2007, as a renowned teacher and politician, whose humility, dedication and loyalty had continued to inspire younger generation of politicians and leaders.

The governor noted that Elue had remained loyal and committed to the unity and growth of Delta State and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Oborevwori, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, which was made available to journalists on Tuesday, joined family members, friends and associates in celebrating Elue’s remarkable life of service to the state and country.

He said that Elue was a loyal patriot and administrator, whose invaluable service, particularly to Delta and its residents, would remain green.

According to Oborevwori: “It is with great joy that I bring very warm felicitations to you on behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta as you clock 83 eventful and remarkable years on earth.

“As an octogenarian and elder statesman par excellence, you have continued to live an exemplary life of great impact with many outstanding accomplishments, especially as a former Deputy Governor of our dear State.

“As a state, we have been blessed with very loyal and dedicated deputy governors of which you are one.

“As a role model and outstanding patriot, you served our state and country very passionately and contributed immensely to our party’s winning streak in your home local government area of Aniocha-North and Delta-North in general.

“As you deservedly celebrate your 83rd birth anniversary, I join your family to thank Almighty God for His guidance, protection and provision for you and wish you many more fruitful years in the service of God and mankind.”
