The Nigeria Association for Physical Health Education Recreation Sports and Dance (NAPHER-SD) has hailed the appointment of Chief

Bukola Olopade as the Director General of the National Sports Commission, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), as fitting choice of putting a rounded peg, in a round hole.

In a goodwill message by the association signed by its President Prof. Florence Bola Adeyanju, NAPHER-SD acknowledged the choice of Chief Olopade by the President, as a good omen that will engender and fast track the positive turnaround in Nigeria’s sports development, as envisioned by many.“The association [NAPHER-SD] is quite aware that Chief Olopade, a former commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ogun State, has been a seasoned sports administrator, vibrant sports consultant/marketer, and an achiever with sterling qualities. Therefore, We believe that the country will benefit greatly from his wealth of experience in sports development”

The group went further to postulate that with the combination of Chief Olapade and Mallam Shehu Dikko as the Chairman, the leadership of the rejuvenated NSC, has been established on sound footing, and on the right path towards greater achievements at both grassroots and elite sports levels.

Prof, Adeyanju also reiterated her pledges that NAPHER-SD is ready to collaborate and support the hierarchy at the NSC, in their quest for a very strong and result oriented National Sports Commission, which would eventually lift up Nigerians as individuals and as a country.

The message signed off with a word of prayer, for a hugely successful tenure, “…may God grant him [Chief Olapade] all that he needs to carryout this enormous assignment successfully.
