Armed Robbers attacked El-Kanemi Warriors players and officials along Jos-Bauch Road around 2am on Saturday on their way back to Maiduguri after suffering 2-0 defeat in the hands of Ikorodu City in Lagos, in one of the NPFL Matchday 14 mid-week fixtures.
The robbers injured some of the players before carting away valuables such as phones and money. The injured players were taken to nearby hospital in Bauchi.
The shocking armed robbery attack has raised concerns about the safety and security of football teams traveling for matches in Nigeria.
It has been confirmed that no life was lost and the injured players have been treated and stable as at the time of filing this report.
