The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has constituted a six-member Normalization Committee to temporarily manage the Akwa Ibom State Football Association.

In a letter addressed to the state Commissioner for Youth and Sports by the NFF’s Head of Member Association and Special Duties, Ali Muhammad, the constitution of the committee follows the position of the nation’s football governing body on recent happening within the Akwa Ibom State Football Association.

The South-South Vice President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Prince Bonny Nyong, is the chairman of the Committee, former Ukanafun lawmaker, Mr. Saturday Akpan will serve as the Vice Chairman while Mr. John Clayton is the Secretary.

Other members include football administration Ini Edoho, FIFA badge referee, Ferdinard Udoh, and Sports Journalist, Bassey Ibiatisuho.

According to the NFF, further details would be communicated to the committee.

Recall that the Nigeria Football Federation rejected results from the Akwa Ibom State Football Association elections conducted on Monday, May 22 due to a court injunction, and subsequent advice by the NFF not to go ahead with the exercise. The tenure of the state executive committee had since elapsed on 23 May.
