The Nigeria Athletics Masters (NAM ) has elected Dr. Richard Ogunleye as their new President.
He succeeds Dr. (Mrs ) Gloria Obajimi, the immediate past President of the body.
Dr. Richard Ogunleye , a PhD holder who works as an Assistant Commandant, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC ), Kaduna state Command, seasoned lecturer Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, NTI and PGDE Kaduna. Coordinator of Sports, Athletics NSCDC headquarters, Sauka, Abuja.
As a seasoned sports administrator, Dr. Ogunleye was elected alongside other officials at a virtual election held on Sunday 3 August 2025 at the sports complex of the Yaba College of Technology (YABATHECH), Lagos, ¹who will pilot the affairs of the body for the next four years.
They include, Pastor Dele Ige-Executive Vice President, Mr. Christian Aiyegbeni- Vice President Stadia, Mr. Adeyoju Adebusuyi-Non Stadia, Dr. (Mrs) Sofia Yahaya Kongola-Secretary General, Mr AsabunorReuben-Asst Secretary, Mrs Emem Edem Ikhaobomeh-Treasurer, Mrs Shola Ogudele-Finacial Secretary, Mrs Irene Anetir Akhile-women rep, Rev Musa Audu ‘Oly’-foreign rep., Mr Olajide Peter Femi-Pubic Relations Officer and Mr Kelvin Odita-Welfare/ Social Secretary.
The three-man electoral committee led by Dr (Mrs) Oluwatoyin Aluko, the returning officer also include comrade Ige Jenyo and Mike Monyei, who served as secretary.
The Nigerian Athletics Masters was established in 2014 and is recognised by the World Athletics (WA) and the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA)
and is at liberty to set up its own structure and organise events.
