President of Amputee football Federation of Nigeria, Chief Paul Maduakor has commended Kano Pillars Amputee Football Club for winning the 2025 edition of Amputee football tournament by defeating hard fighting Phoenix Amputee football club of Lagos 3-1 in the final decided on Saturday, 19 October 2025 at the package ‘B’ of the MKO National Stadium Abuja.
Chief Maduakor, while delivering his address after the referee’s final whistle, praised all the teams that featured in the championship for the quality of skill displayed throughout the duration of the tournament.
He gave special commendation to Kano Pillars players for displaying exceptional skills that saw them emerging champions thereby winning the trophy back-to-back.
Maduakor expressed serious optimism in Nigeria making strong statement at the Amputee world cup based on what he saw at the championship.
” I’m highly impressed with the standard of play and emergence of new talents from teams like Giidagba Fc and Kaduna FC. It shows that Amputee Football has bright future in Nigeria”, he said.
He also lauded the Kano state Government for their continuous support support for persons with disabilities especially Amputee football players and pleaded with them to continue in that direction.
For the newly discovered talents from various clubs that participated in the championship, President assured that the National coaches have taken note of them for future National assignments..
He also gave kudos to the organizers for packaging a hitch free championship.
The 3rd position went to Niger state that defeated plateau state 3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 full time scores.
