The Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting youth football development by throwing its weight behind the second edition of the Spires 5Aside tournament. The championship is set to kick off soon, featuring 16 teams from across the state.
On Thursday at the CIBN building, Victoria Island, Lagos, the organisers held a well-attended draws and unveiling of jerseys for the 16 teams that qualified from the five divisions in Lagos State.
Lagos State Football Association ably-represented by its Vice-Chairman Adedotun Coker were among the football stakeholders and enthusiasts that graced the occasion.
Speaking on behalf of the board of the Lagos FA, the soft-spoken Coker, while congratulating the organisers for their efforts to help the development of youth football in the state, also charged the players and officials to be disciplined, dedicated, and to play by the rules of the game.
He went ahead to assure the organisers, stakeholders and potential investors in football of the continued support of the board of the Lagos FA, in line with the T.H.E.M.E.S+ agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on the development of the youths of the state.
