The Senegalese Football Federation under President Augustin Senghor has announced the indefinite suspension of all football competitions and leagues across the country.

The suspension is due to the current security situation in the country which has affected many people in their daily activities.

“The Senegalese Football Federation informed the presidents of the Amateur Football League (LFA), Professional Football League (LSFP), regional football leagues and the clubs that, given the security challenges prevailing in the country and on instructions from the hierarchical authority, all football competitions are suspended until further notice throughout the national territory.

This decision aims to ensure the safety of players, officials and the public, in a context where the security situation in the country raises concerns”, the statement confirmed.

The end of the season which was imminent will be delayed, leaving clubs and supporters awaiting new directives.
