    Gov. Makinde To Decorate ID Burster With UBO Belt – Aboderin NBBofC Sec.

    The Secretary General of Nigeria boxing Board of Control, (NBBofC) Remi Aboderin has said the board has decided to bring the Universal Boxing Organization (UBO) African Light-Heavyweight title belt to Ibadan for the Executive Governor of Oyo State to decorate the winner Idowu ID Burster Rasheed with the continental boxing title honour.

    Aboderin who disclosed this to newsmen in Lagos on Wednesday after receiving the belt that was sent to Nigeria from Ghana thanked the President of Universal Boxing Organization for ensuring justice after the UBO African Light-Heavyweight title belt context held on Saturday at Kawukudi Park Nima, in Accra, Ghana between Idowu Rasheed of Nigeria and Bastie Samir of Ghana.

    “Our Plan is to bring this belt to Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State for the Governor to decorate the winner Idowu ‘ID Burster’ Rasheed of the Francis Aiyegbeni Boxing Club Ibadan with his well deserved UBO title belt because what the boxer did was rare in boxing, destroying a perceived senior and more experienced opponent before his home fans,” NBBofC scribe noted.

    Aboderin who doubles as the President of West African Boxing Union (WABU) also explained that the President of Ghana Boxing Association (GBA) Abraham Kotei Neequaye has apologized for what happened during the bout, as it will be recalled that the Ghanaian’s referees and umpires that officiated the fight surprisingly declaring the bout as technical after the Nigerian boxer has knocked out his opponent in the second round.

    “What the GBA President said was that he decided to give the ring announcer the go ahead to announce the fight as a technical draw so as to prevent unruly crowd reaction,” Aboderin added.

    Meanwhile, the Chairman of Oyo State NBBofC, Hon. Gbenga Opaleye and the financier of the Aiyegbeni Boxing Club, Edna Bola Aiyegbeni, daughter of the late famous Nigerian Boxing Promoter, Chief Francis Aiyegbeni have assured that all hands are desk to ensure that the Governor receive and decorate ID Burster with his title belt very soon.
