Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team is back home and ready to close things out.

After dismantling Guinea 5-0 in the first leg in Abidjan, the Flamingos touched down in Ikenne-Remo to begin preparations for the return fixture. The win puts them in pole position to book a spot at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

The squad left Côte d’Ivoire on Sunday morning, flying ASKY Airlines out of Abidjan at 9:35am. A short hop to Lomé, Togo landed them at 10:35am local time, before they continued on to Nigeria. By the time they reached their training base in Ikenne, it was just past midnight.

Now the focus shifts to the second leg on Sunday, May 31, at Remo Stars Stadium. With a commanding lead in hand, the 2022 World Cup bronze medalists have one job left: finish it on home soil.
