Fiorentina, Napoli Considering Trading Of Midfielders

Napoli and Fiorentina could concoct a swap of midfielders involving Diego Demme and Gaetano Castrovilli in the next few weeks. The clubs just started discussing the matter, which will take time and has a lot of moving parts, Corriere dello Sport informs.

Demme has been seeking a way out of Napoli due to lack of playing time following Stanislav Lobotka’s emergence, and Fiorentina could provide that, with or without including Castrovilli in the deal. At this stage, Partenopei haven’t replied to the proposal.

The backup has been linked to Hertha Berlin despite their relegation. Despite his limited role, the Azzurri won’t let him go for cheap.

The Gigliati should definitely sign another quality midfielder if they part ways with Sofyan Amrabat as rumored, as Arthur isn’t reliable enough physically. Since Piotr Zielinski is likely to stay, the Scudettoholders don’t need another technical box-to-box and will likely bring in a more physical player. Although, Aurelio De Laurentiis’ passion for Italian talents shouldn’t be underestimated.
