Esama Birthday Anniversary Football tournament for under 18 teams gets September 6th kick off date
The 19th Edition of the prestigious Esama of Benin Birthday Anniversary Football tournament for under 18 male and female teams in Edo state has been scheduled for Friday September 6th – Friday 13th September, 2024 at Okada, the home town of the Great Lion of Okada.
The yearly football event in honour of His Excellency Sir, Chief Dr Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion CON CFR, is organise by the Edo state Youth clubs coaches Association ( ESYCCA) headed by a renowned Grassroots organiser, uwadia Lucky Sam pele who is the state President of the body an affiliate of the Edo state Football Association.
The tournament hosted and sponsored by the Authority of Ovia North East Local Government Area, will have under 18 teams (Male and female) from the 18 Local Government Area of Edo state, and some invited teams participating in the week Long soccer Fiesta to celebrate the Esama of the universe @90 come September 2024.
According to the president of the organising body, Uwadia Lucky Sam pele, all is set for the tournament to kick off September 6th at Okada, as all Logistics has been put in place by the host local government area for a hitch free soccer carnival to celebrate the great Lion of Okada 90th birthday Anniversary. He called for interested privately owned teams in the state male and female, to register for the tournament promising a well organise event, he added that participating teams ( players only) will get free accommodation at school hostels with the winners taking home medals, trophies, financial reward, certificates and other souvenirs during the final day of the tournament.
Host Ovia North East Local Government Area is the defending champion in the male category while Egor Local Government Area will enter this year’s tournament as cup holders in the female category.
