Egyptian sides, Al Masry SC arrived in Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom State, on Thursday evening ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup Group D clash against Nigeria’s Enyimba Int’l FC of Aba.
The Al Masry delegation landed safely at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo at exactly 6:16 pm, for the must win Day-5 encounter for both sides.
The team later checked into a hotel of their choice, and will have a feel of the stadium this evening, as they zero-in on preparations for the crucial encounter, which is billed for Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, in Uyo starting from 5pm, Nigerian time.
Enyimba FC and Black Bulls FC of Mozambique are joint third on the Group D log, on 4 points and minus 2 goal difference; Al Masry are 2nd with 5 points, 3 points adrift of fellow Egyptians, El Zamalek SC of Cairo who are top of the table, and are home to Black Bulls FC of Maputo; in the other Group D encounter, also to be played simultaneously on Sunday .
Al Masry won the first leg, played in Port Said 2-0, on Day 1; but victory for Enyimba against the Egyptian giants, will take their total haul to 7 points; and brighten their chances of advancing to the knockout phase.
