Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has approved the postponement of the much-anticipated Rangers International Trophy Tour earlier scheduled for Saturday, May 30, 2026, in honour of the significance attached to the date across the South-East region.

The development was revealed on Wednesday evening by Rangers International General Manager, Amobi Ezeaku, during an interview on Prime Sports Radio’s Sports Yarn programme.

According to Ezeaku, the state government decided to move the celebration and parade to Tuesday, June 2, 2026, out of respect for the historical importance of May 30 in the South-East.

“His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah, has decided to shift the planned Trophy Tour from Saturday to Tuesday, June 2, 2026,” Ezeaku stated.

“He feels May 30 is a significant day in the South-East and should be accorded the utmost respect it deserves. Consequently, the parade and official hosting of the team will now hold next week.”

The Rangers Trophy Tour is expected to attract massive support from fans and football lovers across Enugu State as the Flying Antelopes continue to bask in the euphoria of another successful campaign.

Despite the postponement, preparations for the celebration remain in full swing, with both the Enugu State Government and Rangers management intensifying efforts to ensure a colourful and memorable event.

Sources close to the club disclosed that elaborate arrangements are already being put in place for what is expected to be one of the biggest football celebrations in the state in recent times, with supporters eagerly anticipating the team’s triumphant parade across major parts of Enugu.
