    Bows Raised, Standards Higher: 2026 National Archery Championship Opens

    Following a three day rigorous training raining exercise which lasted from 20 April to 22, the 2026
    National Archery Championship started today at the package ‘B’ of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja with 9 teams participating.

    They include, the Defence Headquarter, Nigeria Air Force, Nigeria Army, Rayfield Archery Club Jos,team ICON, The Shooters, , team Kings men, team Archery Club and team Arewa Knights.

    Meanwhile today’s event is centred on 30 and 50 meters.
    The 50 meters session started in the morning and rounded off in the afternoon while the evening session will see action in the 30 meters target range.

    President of the Nigeria Archery Federation His Royal Highness, Mohammed Baba Abdullahi, has expressed his satisfaction on the standard of the Competition which he said is an improvement when compared with that of the last edition.

    “This means that the three day training programme was indeed fruitful.”
    He said the Federation will continue to improve the performance of Nigerian Archers for better continental and global performances .
    A total of 86 ( 32 males and 56 females ), are featuring in the exercise.
