The Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation (SACF) has awarded three-year educational scholarships to two promising but indigent youth footballers in Enugu State, as part of its ongoing commitment to grassroots sports development.

The beneficiaries, Chinedu Ude of Lioneers Academy and Etim Emmanuel of Denver Academy, received the awards during the final of the Grassroot Developers U-12 Competition held on Saturday at the Liberty Estate Stadium, Rangers Camp, Independence Layout, Enugu.

Presenting the scholarships on behalf of the foundation, Chairman of the Enugu State Football Association, Barrister Tony Ugwu, conveyed a message from the foundation’s founder, reaffirming SACF’s dedication to nurturing young talents through education and sports.

Ugwu disclosed that the foundation has concluded plans to expand the initiative, with five additional scholarships earmarked for deserving players in the next edition of the competition.

The scholarship package will fully cover the educational tuition of the beneficiaries for a period of three years, providing them with the opportunity to balance academic pursuits with their football development.

The Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation has consistently supported underprivileged children across Nigeria through scholarship programmes, reinforcing its mission to use sports as a platform for youth empowerment and social impact.
