Italy based UEFA licensed coach and former Sassuolo player, Mathew Olorunleke, who is a top director with fast growing sports management outfit, Abigol has said his agency will keep giving back and providing opportunities to the young ones back in Nigeria to help take their career to the next level.
He made this disclosure in Lagos during a 5- day scouting tournament organized by them with scouts from top Romanian clubs on hand live to do the selections themselves.
The hard- working coach who facilitated Mavlon and Ojodu City involvement at the recently concluded Viareggio cup in Italy which was won by Beyond Limits Academy, maintained that the interest and success of these young generation of players remains their paramount concern at Abigol.
“We are trying to see how we can provide good opportunities for the next generation of players to make them better.
“This is why we will keep giving back in Nigeria to help these gifted young players take their career to the next level.
“A lot is involved but that’s a commitment Abigol is passionate and willing to undertake, he said.
Olorunleke further stated that they are looking for players that can offer something different because if you are not different you are not needed in the modern game.
“We are looking for something different because if you are not different you are not needed.
“Nigeria players have strength, ability, agility but we need something you can combine all that with like technique, vision play, good body positioning and reading the game ahead of everyone.
“It’s not just about running but running with time and space where it’s needed”, he concluded.
According to him, they are looking to have the scouting tournament every three months.
