De-Lad’s Boxing Promotions has issued an official apology to table guests who were unable to access their reserved seats during the WBA Africa lightweight title bout between Taiwo “Esepo” Agbaje and Tosin “Sojar Boy” Osaigbovo on Sunday, April 22.

The highly anticipated match, which drew an unprecedented crowd, took place at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. Agbaje emerged victorious in the contest, which was promoted by De-Lad’s Boxing Promotions and sanctioned by the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control.

However, the event was marred by significant overcrowding at the arena, leaving several premium guests unable to gain access to their designated seating areas. In a statement released after the event, the promotion acknowledged the lapse in delivering the premium experience that had been promised to its guests.

De-Lad’s Boxing Promotions stated that it has begun reaching out directly to those affected to address their concerns and offer appropriate remedies. The organization emphasized its commitment to making amends and ensuring such issues do not recur at future events.

“We deeply regret the inconvenience caused and take full responsibility for the shortfall,” the statement noted. “Our team is actively engaging with impacted guests as we work to restore confidence and uphold the standards our supporters expect.”

Despite the logistical challenges, the bout itself was widely praised for its intensity and high level of competition, underscoring the growing popularity of professional boxing in Nigeria.

The promotion reiterated its dedication to improving event management and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering world-class boxing experiences moving forward.
