Ex-Nigeria international players led by Waidi Akanni, have been constituted into a monitoring committee for the construction of the CMS Sports Complex.

The ground breaking of the sports complex located inside the CMS Primary School was done on Wednesday, by the Executive Chairman of Bariga local government Hon. Alabi Kolade David and assisted by Hon. Bukola Adedeji, the Bariga APC Chairmanship candidate.

Speaking at the historic ceremony, ex-Nigeria international star player, Waidi Akanni, who led other ex-Internationals that included former Nigeria and PSG of France star, Godwin Okpara, Hon. Kunle Ogunade Adasi,  Ayodeji Julius and others, praised the local government boss for the initiative, which he remarked would help revitalise sports in the community.

“This is a wonderful initiative and we want to assure the local government chairman, as well as, the good people of the Bariga community that we’ll be ever present during the construction to monitor and ensure timely and quality delivery of the sports complex,” Akanni, who was a former chairman of Lagos State Football Association, said.

The sporting facility, upon its completion, will comprise a football field, track, lawn tennis court, volleyball and basketball courts. It will also feature a gym, conference room, changing rooms, a press briefing room, facility management offices, and conveniences.
