    Athletes Punch Tickets to the Grand Finale, As 2025 Barr Nyesom Wike FCT Sch Sports Finals Break Into Two Conferences

    Competition for places, in the grand finale of the 2025 Barrister Nyesom Wike FCT School Sports Festival resumed yesterday, with the athletes locked in intense and keenly contested battles, at the Eastern Conference, stationed at GSS Garki, and the GSS Gwagwalada centre, host of the Western Conference.

    According to our reporters at the Eastern Conference in Garki, Olukayode Babatunde and Godstime Egelege; GSS Mabushi and GSS Karu will represent the Eastern Conference in the final playoffs of Senior Boys football event.

    GSS Mabushi qualified after beating GSS Kubwa 1-0, thanks to Mustafa Yakubu’s strike in the second half of the match; whilst GDSS Karu joined them following their 6-5 penalty shootout win over GSS Kuje after it ended 1-1 at regulation time.

    In Senior Girls football event, FOSLA Academy and ADSS Maitama punched their tickets, and will go on to represent the Eastern Conference after winning their respective matches.

    FOSLA Academy Karshi gained a measure of revenge by scoring two goals without a reply (2-0), to dump out GDSS Karu, which had at the zonal level defeated their Senior Boys football team; while ADSS Maitama mauled GSS Kubwa 5- Nil to progress.

    In Badminton for Senior Boys, GSS Kubwa and ADSS Maitama will represent the Conference while Astute Academy of Kuje and ADSS Maitama are the finalists in the Senior Girls category.

    In Handball for Senior Girls, GSS Garki and GSS Asokoro are the flag bears; while the Senior Boys representatives are GSS Nyanya and ADSS Maitama.

    The Junior Boys Handball team of JSS Karshi will represent the Conference in the final playoffs while LEA Kpadna is the sole representative of the Eastern Conference in the Primary Schools Handball event.

    In Volleyball for Junior Boys, JSS Karu defeated ABJSS 2 Asokoro 2-0 and qualified alongside JSS Karu after they defeated ABJSS Asokoro 2-0.

    In the semifinals of Volleyball for Senior Boys, ADSS Maitama beat GDSS Bwari 2-0 (25-7, 25-8); and advanced along with GDSS Karu who despatched GSS Airport 2-0 (4-25, 8-25). The final is to be contested by ADSS Maitama and GDSS Karu, and the winner will progress to the grand finale.

    In Senior Girls Volleyball, ADSS Maitama beat GDSS Karu 2-0 (25-12, 25-13); whilst GDSS Karu dumped out GSS Kubwa Phase 3 2-0 (25-7, 25-7). The Final that will produce the team to the grand finale is between ADSS Maitama and GDSS Karu.

    In Handball for Senior Boys ADSS Maitama lost 11-15 to GSS Nyanya; and in Senior Girls Handball, GSS Garki trounced ADSS Asokoro 8-2 to qualify.

    In Badminton for Senior Boys, Saeed Abdullahi of GSS Kubwa Phase 3 defeated Samuel Andrew of Astute School Kuje 2-0 to reach the final; whilst Ahmed Suleiman of ADSS Asokoro lost 0-2 to Abdullamid Haruna of ADSS Maitama; meaning GSS Kubwa Phase 3 and ADSS Maitama will slug it out in the final.

    In the semi-finals of Senior Girls Badminton; Jonah Peace of ADSS Asokoro bowed 0-2 to Rabi Ato of Astute School Kuje; who will go on to play John Victor of ADSS Maitama who defeated Success Damissa of GSS Kubwa Phase 3 2-0.

    In Table Tennis for Senior Boys GSS Gwarimpa Estate lost 18-21 to GDSS Bwari who are through to the final, where they will face GSS Gwarimpa who ousted GSS Karu 18-21.

    In Senior Girls Table Tennis, ADSS Maitama lost 16-21 to ADSS Asokoro; who will face GDSS Bwari in the final, after they beat ADSS Asokoro 21-11.
