Former World Boxing Federations (WBF) Champion Ridwan ‘Scorpion’ Oyekola was in Ibadan during the weekend to pay homage to some of his fans that had been supporting his career during his stay in Japan.

Oyekola, who had been in the Asian land for almost three years, told newsmen in Ibadan that he has returned to Nigeria, where he will feature in some bouts for his Nigerian fans to have opportunities of watching him live on the ring.

He, however, thanked his teeming fans that had been supporting him both financially and in prayers during his stay in Japan, where he fought to become the second-top boxer in the lightweight category.

“I’m most grateful to all my fans at home, especially in Ibadan, here where I started my boxing career. But I must especially thank Aliu Ayinde, popularly known as ‘ADEDIBU ELEPO’, for his love and support of my boxing career,” said Scorpion.

He, however, hinted to the sporting press about his upcoming fights in Port Harcourt, Rivers State later this year, and Lagos early next year.
