    Yucateco Boxing League Week 7: OWAN BC Floored As ESPITA’s, OGBAS Record Wins

    Yucateco Boxing League Week 7: OWAN BC Floored As ESPITA’s, OGBAS Record Wins

    Boxing fans were treated to plenty of exciting moves in the squared ropes as week 7 of the Yucateco boxing league Season 2 took center stage in Lagos on Saturday. The event held at the Yucateco headquarters in Ikorodu attracted hundreds of boxing fans, promoters of the sports, and some key stakeholders.

    With 24 bouts on the fight card on the night, the rumble began with a technically engaging encounter that saw Sultan Adekonya of ESPITA boxing club secured a 4-1 triumph over Keyinde Oyeleye of YS Rano’s BC in their 51kg contest. In another top class show of grit and techniques, Rasak Erinfolami of OGBAS bc consolidated on his previous record with a 5-0 win over Adigun Damilare of Owan boxing club in their 51kg brawl.

    For a spot in the Yucateco boxing Pan-African 57kg title challenge, the ever exciting Michael Ogunremi defeated Ramadan Abiodun 4-1 to advance his cause. The poor run continued for OWAN boxing club in the 6th bout as Oluwatobiloba Balogun was floored in all 5 rounds by Quadri Ilori of OGBAS bc. Last Season’s most valuable boxer (MVB) Abdulrahmon Abdulwahab of ESPITA’s boxing club showed class as he made a light work of Abiodun Oluwaseun of YS RANO to secure a 5-0 triumph in their 63.5kg fight.

    In other results on the night 71kg YS Rano’s Abiodun Adetoya 0-5 ESPITA’s Ejieke Peter. 71kg TIZIMI bc’s Friday Mathew 4-1 ABG Splendid BC Ayomide Akande. 80kg YS Rano’s Stephen Ochoche 4-1 ESPITA’s Ogwu Kelechi. 92k ESPITA’s Obierika Chukwuebuka 5-0.

    Technical director of the Yucateco boxing league Babatunde Laguda, said action will continue in week 8 round of bouts on Friday October 11th.
