Marking a crucial win in their World Cup qualifying campaign. This historic triumph not only revives Nigeria’s hopes of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup but also showcases Osimhen’s growing reputation as one of the most clinical strikers in international football.
Osimhen’s goals were a testament to his exceptional skill and finishing ability. His first goal was a textbook poacher’s finish, courtesy of Ademola Lookman’s precise cross.
The second goal highlighted his relentless high-pressing skills, as he intercepted a Rwandan pass before calmly slotting the ball past the goalkeeper.
The win was also a testament to the tactical prowess of Nigeria’s head coach, Eric Chelle. His decision to switch from a 4-4-2 formation to a 4-3-3 in the second half proved to be a masterstroke, as it allowed Nigeria to control the game and stifle Rwanda’s attempts to mount a comeback.
With this victory, Nigeria moves to six points in Group C, restoring belief that the Super Eagles can still turn their qualification campaign around.
Super Eagles will look to build on this momentum when they host Zimbabwe in Uyo , Akwa-Ibom state.
