    Wikki Tourists, Warri Wolves Return To NPFL, As Barau FC, & Kun Kalifat Celebrate Historic Promotions to Elite Division

    _Tourists and Wolves to Play for NNL Title__By Chinedum Ohanusi

    The business end of the 2024/2025 Promotion Play-offs of the Nigeria National League (NNL) were concluded on Thursday, with Wikki Tourists, Barau FC, Kun Kalifat FC and Warri Wolves, securing their places in next season’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

    In the decisive matches played simultaneously yesterday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, and the University Field in Ozoro; Wikki Tourists of Bauchi trounced Yobe Desert Stars of Damaturu 4-Nil; while Barau FC of Kano defeated Doma United of Gombe 2-0.

    In the Southern Conference, Osun United of Osogbo lost 1- 2 to Kun Khalifat FC of Owerri; while Warri Wolves edged out Crown FC of Ogbomoso 2-1.

    The promoted quartet, will now take the places of Lobi Stars of Makurdi, Sunshine Stars of Akure, Akwa United of Uyo, and Heartland FC of Owerri; who were relegated to the NNL from the NPFL, at the end of last season.

    With the promotional playoffs done and dusted; Wikki Tourists which topped the Northern Conference with a better goal difference, having finished level on 5 points with Barau FC, will go on to play Warri Wolves which likewise topped the Southern Conference table, but also on a better goal difference, having tied on 6 points with Khalifat FC for the NNL title.
