According to Record, Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr has acquired a club in Portugal’s second division. Through an investment group made up of Spanish and Brazilian investors, the winger has become part-owner of FC Alverca.

    Vinicus Succeeds Ownership

Following in the footsteps of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius has decided to invest part of his football earnings in club ownership. The Brazilian has secured a stake in FC Alverca, a team currently competing in Liga Portugal 2.

The club itself confirmed the transaction via an official statement on its social media channels: “FC Alverca – Futebol, SAD announces that engineer Ricardo Vicintin has sold his qualified stake in the company to a group of Spanish and Brazilian investors.”

Reports suggest that Vinicius is part of this consortium, having acquired between 70% and 80% of the club. FC Alverca also confirmed that its current CEO, Matheus Ornelas, will continue managing the club, with further details about the new ownership group set to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Located in Alverca do Ribatejo, a town of around 30,000 residents near Lisbon, the club has a history in Portugal’s top flight, having played in the Primeira Liga at the turn of the 21st century.

After suffering a financial collapse in 2005, Alverca has gradually worked its way back up the divisions and currently sits second in the league with 38 points, just two behind leaders Tondela. They play at the Complexo Desportivo do FC Alverca, a stadium with a capacity of approximately 8,000 spectators.

However, other high-profile footballers who have entered club ownership include David Beckham (Inter Miami), Ronaldo Nazario (Real Valladolid), Gerard Pique (Andorra) and Thierry Henry (Como).[be soccer]
