Max Verstappen claimed victory for Red Bull at the Qatar Grand Prix on Sunday, setting up a final championship decider against McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri at next weekend’s season finale in Abu Dhabi.
Briton Norris finished fourth, behind the Williams of Spaniard Carlos Sainz, with his lead slashed to 12 points as Verstappen’s third win in a row in Qatar moved him up to second in the standings.
Australia’s Oscar Piastri, who began the race from pole and had already won the Saturday sprint, finished in second place. The result moved him down to third in the overall standings, leaving him four points behind four-time world champion Max Verstappen. All three leading drivers now have seven victories each this season.
