    U20 AFCON: Nigeria Bows Out After Quarterfinal Loss To South Korea

    Nigeria has been eliminated from the ongoing FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina after a 1-0 loss to Korea Republic on Sunday at the quarterfinal stage.
    In a match the Flying Eagles dominated, they failed to find the back of the net and the Asians dragged the game into extra time.
    Five minutes into the first half of thirty minutes extra time, the Flying Eagles were pegged back through a corner kick which connected a forward from the opposing side who made no mistake in burying the goal.
    However all efforts for Nigeria to come back into the match proved futile as the Asians held on to qualify for the semifinal consecutively as the also qualified for the semis in the last edition two years ago.
    Meanwhile, Nigeria’s elimination marked the end of African campaign at the junior mundial as no more African presence in the last four of the championship.
    It will be recalled that Ladan Bosso has never crossed the quarterfinal stage since he started handling the team to the World Cup as not a lot of Nigerians believed that he has what it takes to take the Flying Eagles further.
