    TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations : South Africa tops Group C With Impressive Performance

    The TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2024 has seen some thrilling matches, and Group C’s standings has been decided.

    South Africa, the defending champion, has topped the group with an impressive performance.

    Group C Standings:

    – 1. South Africa – 7 points, 6 goal difference
    – 2. Ghana- 4 points, 1 goal difference
    – 3. Mali- 4 points, -3 goal difference
    – 4. Tanzania- 1 point

    South Africa’s journey to the top of Group C was sealed with a 4-0 win over Mali, showcasing their dominance in the tournament so far.

    Lebohang Ramalepe opened the scoring in the 5th minute, followed by Refiloe Jane’s free kick in the 32nd minute.

    Hildah Magaia and Ronnel Donnelly added to the score in the second half, ensuring South Africa’s spot in the quarterfinals

    Ghana, on the other hand, secured their place in the quarterfinals with a 4-1 victory over Tanzania. Their superior goal difference over Mali means they finished second in the group, while Mali qualified as one of the best third-place teams .

    Quarterfinal Matchups:

    Some of the quarterfinal matches include :

    – Nigeria vs Zambia- July 18, 17:00 GMT
    – Morocco vs Mali- July 18, 20:00 GMT

    With South Africa and Ghana advancing to the quarterfinals, the competition is heating up, and fans are eagerly waiting to see who will lift the trophy .
