    Today’s Thriller: Eagles vs Niger Republic in the Semi-Finals of West Africa Deaf Football Championship

    The Deaf Super Eagles of Nigeria will today take on Niger Republic in the first semi-finals of the on-going 13th West Africa Deaf Football tournament holding at the Moshood Abiola National stadium Abuja alongside the 3rd West Africa Deaf Athletics championship.
    Nigeria is the defending champion and has won the trophy 5 times with the last victory being in 2024 in Lagos

    The Deaf Super Eagles topped group A with 6 points from two matches by spanking Cote D’Ivoire 3-0 in the games opener and a 3-2 victory against Gambia in their second game to remain unbeaten in the group stage while I Gambia finished as group A runners up.
    Tha match comes up at 2 pm and will be followed by the second semi-finals between group B table toppers, Liberia and group A runners up, Gambia at 4 pm immediately after the first match.

    A win against Niger Republic today will make it Nigeria’s 11th appearance in the final as she chases her 6th title.
    Mobility player Emeka Ikechukwu who swaps positions from 7 to 11, is Nigeria’s tormentor in- chief with 3 goals in his to his credit..
    Meanwhile Deaf Super Eagles head coach, Kamiludeen Banjo is optimistic of an outright victory against Niger Republic.
    In a chat with the media, coach Banjo said the Niger team cannot stop his men from getting to Saturday’s final.

    Though Banjo acknowledged that the Niger team is a good side for getting to this stage, but insists that the Eagles are better.
