Tobi Amusan made a stunning appearance at the 2025 Paris Diamond League, clocking a season-best time of 12.24 seconds in the women’s 100m hurdles. This impressive performance earned her second place, narrowly losing to American hurdler Grace Stark, who set a Meeting Record and a Personal Best with a time of 12.21 seconds. The event was a showcase of top-notch athleticism, with Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent securing third place with a time of 12.30 seconds. Amusan’s remarkable run marked her second-fastest ever recorded time, just behind her world record of 12.12 seconds set in 2022.

Amusan’s road to Paris was paved with determination and perseverance. She began her Diamond League campaign with fourth-place finishes in Xiamen and Shaoxing and Shaoxing before bouncing back with a season-best and meet record 12.45 seconds in Rabat last month. This win in Rabat was her first Diamond League victory of the year and marked a significant milestone in her campaign.

The Paris Diamond League featured an elite field, including:
    – Grace Stark: Winner of the women’s 100m hurdles with a Meeting Record and Personal Best time of 12.21 seconds
    – *ckera Nugent:  Third-place finisher with a time of 12.30 seconds
    – Rai Benjamin: Olympic champion who set a meet record in the men’s 400m hurdles with a time of 46.93 seconds
    – Marileidy Paulino: Reigning Olympic champion who won the women’s 400m with a meeting record of 48.81 seconds

Amusan’s consistent performances currently place her fourth in the Diamond League standings with 10 points. With the World Championships on the horizon, Amusan is peaking at the right time, and her sights are set on gold. Her season’s best time ranks as the fourth-fastest in the world this year, trailing only Masai Russell (12.17s), Tia Jones (12.19s), and Stark (12.21s).
