This is obviously the best of times for Ikenne based Ogun state club, Grassrunners FC as more and more of their young takented players make the cut professionally across the globe.

The latest from the staple of this great Nigerian side is Abdullah Taofeek who has recently joined United States of America based side, Hartford Athletic.

The Connecticut based outfit, also known as Connecticut United FC plays in the USL Championship. Taofeek made his debut for the club at the weekend when he came on as a second half substitute in their 4-0 home loss against El Paso Locomotive FC.

Hartford is placed fourth on the group A league table, which with the addition of Taofeek they hope he can help them finish strong at the end of the season.

The 18 year old has been dreaming for this opportunity which he said he hopes to grab with both hands.

“This is a dream come true for me and I thank God, my club Grassrunners, my coaches and my teammates.

“I will keep representing the club as a good ambassador and never will let them down.

“They are my family and will forever be”, he said emotionally.
